House a Musician

Many of PCMF’s musicians travel from cities around the world to stay in Portland for up to a week of rehearsals, performances, and other activities. These professional musicians stay with volunteers in the greater Portland area who have comfortable, private guest accommodations and can house them for the entire time they are here (typically Sunday–Sunday). We ask that hosts provide easy access (musicians often have evening rehearsals or other obligations) and simple breakfast items. PCMF provides all lunches and dinners, and coordinates musician transportation. Hosts and musicians often develop lasting connections, and stay in touch even after their PCMF residency.

Volunteers who generously open their homes receive:

  • complimentary tickets to hear "their" musician in concert;

  • invitations to exclusive social events with artists and other housing hosts;

  • the opportunity to get to know some of the world's finest chamber musicians in a truly unique and extraordinary way!

(Artist housing may be considered a tax-deductible in-kind contribution; consult your tax professional for details.)

Host a Dinner

Hosting a dinner for Festival artists is a great way to get to know PCMF musicians in a relaxed atmosphere. The group is typically 10–20 people, and most dinners are buffet style or hosted at a restaurant.

Usher a Concert

Ushers direct traffic, hand out programs, help with post-concert receptions, and generally serve as a friendly welcoming face for PCMF patrons. Ushering is a fun way to connect with people, plus you get to watch the concert for free.
