Spotlight Series Ep. 3 | In August of 2020, thirty-one musicians from the East Coast Chamber Orchestra (past and present) recorded their parts remotely for this beautiful Bach Chorale, a piece the group has been playing since its inception. The performance aired online as part of "Heart & Soul," the second program of PCMF's 27th summer season. In addition to the performance, we gathered members of the ensemble to reflect on their experience in the group, and talk about what this particular Bach Chorale means to them.

Dig into culinary pairings with cooking demonstrations by the artists, then join with musicians and fellow music-lovers for a live Zoom reception following the performance (cocktails optional).

Montgomery - Rhapsody No. 1 for Solo Violin

Spotlight Series Ep. 4 | In August of 2020, violinist Susie Park recorded Jessie Montgomery's beautiful Rhapsody No. 1 for the Portland Chamber Music Festival. The performance aired online as part of "Heart & Soul," the second program of PCMF's 27th summer season. The Portland Chamber Music Festival is delighted to present a full evening of music by Mozart: the Divertimento for String Trio in E-flat Major, K. 563, performed by violinist Johnny Gandelsman, violist and PCMF Artistic Director Melissa Reardon, and cellist Raman Ramakrishnan. This event is a collaboration with the Charlottesville Chamber Music Society, recorded in the historic Blithewood Manor at Bard College in New York’s Hudson River Valley. The performance will premiere on YouTube at 7 PM, and will be followed by a live post-concert reception with the artists on Zoom.

2021 Summer Festival

August 15–21, 2021 

The Portland Chamber Music Festival’s 28th summer season is a welcome return to its mission of bringing internationally renowned artists to Portland to perform a wide range of classical and contemporary chamber music in innovative formats, while nurturing a deep, family-like connection between musicians and audiences of all ages. The season opens with a Summer Benefit at Cove Street Arts on Sunday, August 15. Two main stage concerts at Hannaford Hall on Thursday, August 19 and Saturday, August 21 will also be streamed live on PCMF’s YouTube channel, produced by the Grammy award-winning team at PARMA Recordings.
