PCMF joins in the worldwide celebration of Beethoven's 250th birthday by bringing the "magnificent" (London Times) Brentano String Quartet to Portland for two programs of the composer's most iconic and influential works: his beloved string quartets, and the powerful C Major String Quintet with Artistic Director Melissa Reardon. You won't want to miss this truly incredible experience of landmark repertoire performed by one of the top ensembles in the world, in a comfortable mini-series format designed for deep listening and maximum enjoyment.
Did you know? The Quartet is named for Antonie Brentano, whom many scholars consider to be Beethoven’s “Immortal Beloved,” the intended recipient of his famous love confession.
