Festival Program IV:

Grand Finale

Saturday, August 17 at 7:30 PM

Hannaford Hall, 88 Bedford Street, Portland

Musical styles meet head-on in the contemporary dance party that is Collision Course, and again in the extraordinarily colorful Contrasts, written for Benny Goodman, which in turn was influenced by Ravel’s bluesy elements. The epic Octet by George Enescu, with its fiery energy and lushly symphonic sound world, brings PCMF’s 2019 season to a suitably grand finale.

Clancy Newman Collision Course for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano <listen>

Bartók Contrasts for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano <listen>

Ravel Violin Sonata No. 2 <listen>

Enescu Octet in C Major Op. 7 <listen>
