PCMF Announces 2012 Season
Artistic Director Jennifer Elowitch has announced plans for 2012, including a May concert in Freeport in advance of the regular August season in Portland.
The Portland Chamber Music Festival will appear at the Freeport Performing Arts Center on Friday, May 11th in its only Maine concert prior to August. Visit the FPAC website for concert details.
PCMF’s popular August concert season features festival debuts by artists including classical guitarist David Leisner, composer Sebastian Currier, and soprano Tony Arnold. Repertoire highlights include Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring, Dominick Argento’s Letters from Composers for Soprano and Guitar, and the Schubert Cello Quintet.

PCMF Awarded Grant from the
Quimby Family Foundation
The Portland Chamber Music Festival has just received its first grant from the Quimby Family Foundation in support of its Bringing Chamber Music to New Audiences initiative. This initiative includes the festival’s Free Family Fun Day and our program providing free tickets to all of our evening concerts to everyone 21 and under. Read more

Opening Night 2011
The Portland Chamber Music Festival’s August 11th Opening Night Concert was broadcast live on MPBN – Maine’s public radio network. The concert included the Sonata for Two Violins in C major of Leclair, “On Wenlock Edge” for Tenor, Piano, and String Quartet by Vaughan Williams, and the Octet, Op. 20, of Mendelssohn.
